{"id":12223,"date":"2019-03-06T15:28:50","date_gmt":"2019-03-06T15:28:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/grace-asso.fr\/therapeutic-patient-education-nurse-ten"},"modified":"2019-03-29T15:02:45","modified_gmt":"2019-03-29T15:02:45","slug":"therapeutic-patient-education-nurse-ten","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/grace-asso.fr\/en\/therapeutic-patient-education-nurse-ten","title":{"rendered":"Therapeutic patient education nurse (TEN)"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row container=&#8221;1&#8243; el_class=&#8221;white-wrapper&#8221;][vc_column 0=&#8221;&#8221;][vc_column_text 0=&#8221;&#8221;]The therapeutic education of the patient is an integral part of the role of the nurse as part of health promotion and education.<br \/>\nSince 2009, this activity has been regulated by Law (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.legifrance.gouv.fr\/eli\/loi\/2009\/7\/21\/2009-879\/jo\/article_84\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">article 84 of french Law no. 879-2009 of 21 July 2009<\/a> dealing with the hospital reform relating to patients, health and territories (known as the \u201cHPST Law\u201d), and included in the French Public Health Code containing the provisions defining Therapeutic Patient Education (TPE) and the conditions of its implementation).<br \/>\nThere is an obligation to undergo 40 hours of training in order to be authorised to carry out actual work in therapeutic education for patients with chronic illnesses.<br \/>\nThe TPE RN can work with the coordination RN in ERP to optimise the specific aspects of the patient\u2019s education in terms of their illness.<br \/>\nBy extension, ERP also involves preparing the patient as far as possible for their surgery by offering, where possible, prehabilitation and encouraging them to stop smoking and drinking alcohol.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>It should be noted that educating is firstly having good communication skills<\/h2>\n<p>We are talking here about <strong>therapeutic communication<\/strong> (there was a time when this was called \u201cthe support relationship\u201d) which acquires real meaning as part of ERP.<br \/>\nOur profession involves <strong>interpersonal skills<\/strong>.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[vc_row container=&#8221;1&#8243; el_class=&#8221;white-wrapper&#8221;][vc_column 0=&#8221;&#8221;][vc_column_text 0=&#8221;&#8221;]The therapeutic education of the patient is an integral part of the role of the nurse as part of health promotion and education.
